Nebraska Law Enforcement Training

Individuals who wish to become officers of the law in Nebraska must be equipped to check off all of the requirements which can be found in the section below. Once a person meets these, they can apply for job openings or during open recruitment times. There are several other exams which follow the background check: psychological, medical, drug tests etc. If selected a person will go to a Nebraska police training academy to be trained as a police officer.

Although Nebraska does not require a person to have any college prior to applying, it is smart to pursue higher education after high school and before applying. Not only can this equip a person with more knowledge regarding legal issues and criminal justice, it can also give an applicant a leg up on other candidates who did not pursue a degree. Those with a higher education can also start out at a higher pay than other beginning officers.
